Girl Guide Cookies

I had a new experience last night...I went door to door with my daughter, who is a "Spark" selling Girl guide Cookies. She was so excited she could barely contain herself. Personally, I hate going door to door for anything. Too many years of band fundraising and my one year of Cancer Society canvassing have jaded me. We paired up and went out into the darkness, armed with our case of cookies, flashlights and our float money. I was proud of her. She was so brave, asking at each door, "Would you like to buy some Girl Guide Cookies?" Most people were very sweet. After all, who can resist two little girls in their bright pink uniforms?

As we were walking home, my little Spark turned to me, eyes shining and said, "Mom, wasn't that fun selling cookies?" "Yeah", I said, "that was a blast!"
