Forts for West Coast Kids

All kids build forts....it's just part of the growing up process. The neighbourhood was out playing today...(ah yes, spring is in the air) and my girls came running home asking for umbrellas. "We're making a fort!" Well, now, that must truly be a west coast activity. We used to make snow forts, but we never made an umbrella fort. It turned out pretty well. They collected as many umbrellas as they could carry and arranged them into an igloo like structure. Building the fort took almost all afternoon, arranging and rearranging. The question becomes...what do you do when it's finished? As we ate dinner tonight I asked them, "So, what did you do inside your fort?" "Oh, they said, We just watched Kendra play her game boy!"
