Rain Therapy

Tonight while Mike and Maddie were at music class, Chelsea and I found a cure for the soggy, rainy Vancouver blues. I had dishes to do and lunches to make for tomorrow, but somehow Chelsea talked me into our own little Hawaiian concert. You see, we still have our party decor up and we're loving our new Lilo and Stitch "Island Favourites" CD. So really, the atmosphere is set. Chelsea played the ukuelele and I played the bongos. She turned off all the lights except for the glow of the fireplace. We turned up the CD and had our own little concert. I wish I could videotape her, but I'm sure she would freeze. Somehow she's picked up all these "moves". She's playing the ukuelele down low on her hips, tapping her foot and kind of bobbing her head to the music....oh my goodness, I was just cracking up inside. Her only complaint was that we needed some flashing lights for a real concert! She doesn't necessarily have the same clear voice Maddie has, but the kid has amazing rhythm. After watching the Diana Krall DVD, Chelsea was imitating the way she moves her head while she plays. Mike and I were laughing so hard!!!

I better get back to the kitchen, but I feel so much better having had a playful respite from the rhythm of the rain.
