Snow and New Beginnings

What a week! First, we were surprised by a really great snowfall. As the girls and I were driving back from Disney on Ice Sunday night, it was really starting to come down. The freeway was quite slick so I drove 40-50k the whole way home!! Everybody else was being really cautious. The whole freeway was moving very slowly. By Monday morning, we had a beautiful winter wonderland. The kids were excited to build snowmen and just play in the snow. It was fun to watch them. The rest of the week brought more snow and it actually stayed for more than a day. Last night the girls and I took Bella out for an evening walk. The snow was crunchy and white as we stepped through the school fields. Bella had a great time galloping through the powder!

More exciting than the snow was the arrival of our newest family member, Caleigha. It was so exciting to see Colin, Jeanie and Anjeleigh come through the international arrivals gate with their new addition. It was actually Caleigha's birthday on Thursday so it was a double celebration. Caleigha is a little more shy than Anjeleigh and wasn't really willing to be held by any of us, except Mike, who could get away with it. It won't be long before she figures out that her daddy has a "look-alike". Grandpa got to hold her too and Grandma cradled her while she slept. It was such a great feeling to see Colin and Jeanie so happy. Here are some photos of the "homecoming"! http://picasaweb.google.com/mhmandc/November0604?authkey=yd1X-m4xacY
