2008

It's New Year's Eve. Tomorrow brings with it the promise of a new year and a new beginning. I always feel blessed on this day that I can see the dawn of another year. Life is fragile and 2008 has taught me that. I have thought of Debi so much during the holidays. It was perhaps her favourite time of year. Who would have thought last Christmas would be her last? A local four year old dies in a freak tobogganing accident. Will her family's Christmas Eve ever be the same? Each day is a gift from God. I hope to remember that in 2009.

Some of our 2008 highlights...

-Hawaii....a fabulous vacation
-Pender Island weekend
-May Day with Chelsea as a "flower girl"
-highland dance competitions
-lots of family time
-the great snowfall!
-downhill skiing after a hiatus of 10+ years

We've had a wonderful Christmas holiday. It was really magical with all the snow. We had lots of down time as a family. It was kind of nice to be at home with no particular schedule or routine. It's what we all needed.

Tomorrow we're going to the Stanley Park train. Friday I may go into school a bit to organize myself for the new year and then it will be back to the grind Monday!
