My eldest is now six. Wow! That's really weird for me to have a six year old. When I hear myself saying it, I feel like I'm lying. How can I have a six year old? I know my blogs have had the theme of time flying by lately. It's just such a theme in my life right now. I know she'll be in middle school before I know it.
Anyway, we had a wonderful time celebrating her birthday. We had a great time with her classmates at the Rec Centre. We had a fun party and then some time on the ice. I made a cute snowman cake. She had all kids from school. She has such a great group of friends there. Lots of boys, but at this age they play so well together. Then on Sunday night for her actual birthday, we had a family supper. I made a great Barbie cake. We had a good time just visiting, eating pizza and celebrating Maddie.
Now life can get back to routine for a while. Today I'm cleaning and sorting....getting the house back in order, finding new homes for new toys.
I've booked our trip to Disneyland in March. Boy, it's expensive. We've been saving in our "vacation account" for a few years now. I put in a bit each month (automatically - I'd never be disciplined enough to do it on my own!) Still, it's hard to spend such a chunk in one shot. I keep thinking we should put it on a new vehicle or something. It's very hard for me to spend money on a vacation! But we've wanted to do it for a long time so we're going through with it! It will be fun. We're taking a day to go to Sea World in San Diego too. Mike and I have a couple vacation goals for our family. After we deplete this amount, we're going to start saving again for a Hawaii vacation - maybe when the girls are 9 and 10 - something like that. Then we'll save again for when they are 17/18 and go to Europe. This Disney trip will have to be our 10th anniversary vacation too! Maybe we'll get matching Disney shirts! LOL

I'm still waiting (rather impatiently) for my picture of the Barbie cake. :) Glad it all went well. See you Saturday. bonnie
