After all the fuss, I finally bought the book, The DaVinci Code. I actually bought it for Mike for Christmas. He finished it over the holidays and then I decided to read it. It's quite a page turner. The author is a master at intrigue. The story continues to take wild turns...it's quite a ride. There has been a lot of controversy over the book due to its claims re. Christianity. Well, actually they can't be claims if the book is fictional, which it is. The whole secret society thing is intriguing. I read a book once called "Fingerprints of the gods" by Graham Hancock. That's a wild read too....it's all about the baffling structures like the pyramids, the Sphinx, Stonehenge....
His book about the Lost Ark of the Covenant is even more intriguing. I have no idea how much of it is true. It's a mixture of legend, science, his own personal research and heresay. Anyhow, I love that kind of stuff. Mike says it's because of my Celtic roots. Maybe. Back in Burghead, Scotland where my family comes from there is a Roman Well. Actually, they're not sure what it is now. They always assumed it was a Roman Well. They found old Roman coins around the site. Now they believe it may be an early Christian baptistry. Regardless, it's a fascinating place. I hope to go back and see it again someday. Scotland is full of intrigue and history. I believe that's where some of those secret societies originated. I should do some family tree research...maybe there's some secret knowledge back there!
