Just around the corner....

When I was a child, I would ask, like most other children, "Are we there yet?" We traveled a fair bit to and from Vancouver and my dad would always say, "It's just around the corner." I would protest when our destination wasn't around the next corner to which he would reply, "I didn't say which corner."

Well, 2006 really is around the corner. It's hard to believe that another year has arrived. My children are growing so fast. Maddie will be 7 in a couple weeks and Chelsea is into her second half of her kindergarten year.

I always like to reflect on the year that is passing. 2005 has been great in so many ways.....
Disneyland, boot camp, friends having babies, new beginnings for the girls.

My prayer is that 2006 will be a year of growth. I want to grow in many areas of my life. It's always scary to pray for growth, knowing that God will likely stretch me or perhaps even "prune" me to accomplish growth. Yikes. But I really feel led to pray this for the new year. There's many areas that I've been stalling in and I know I need to move forward.

So, 2006 is around the corner.....my growing days are waiting for me there.
