Family Work Day

Today we are doing hard labour. I'll post some photos later. We've always had drainage issues in our back yard and we've decided to tackle it head on. Yesterday Mike spent almost 12 hours digging trenches in our back yard, strategically placed so as to drain into the drain by the side of the house. Today the gravel was delivered so we are lining the ditches with landscape fabric and filling them with drainage gravel. I'm hoping we have enough money left in our budget to buy sod, otherwise we'll have to replant the grass and I'm so impatient for it to grow!! The kids donned their work clothes after church and we're ready to start wheelbarrowing and shoveling the gravel. Oh, the joys of home ownership!
