Upside Down

Well, the home improvements continue around here. Today we finished the yard except for laying sod. That will happen next weekend. We actually could have done it this weekend but we thought it would take longer to prepare. I'm quite pleased with my new garden area. We expanded it a bit to go around the corner. I had my eye on some really nice natural looking borders, but they are really pricey. So, we've really cut costs and are using the rocks Mike dug up to make a border. They look really good so far. I've always loved the rock gardens I've seen while driving in New West and now I have my own version. I just need to get the right plants to go with it. I'm so excited to finally have our yard feeling like we want it. I can't wait for summer days now.

Now for the inside. We have all our family room furniture in the front room and dining room so we can start tearing out our berber. The kids think it's so much fun to have everything topsy turvy and "upside down". I just can't wait until it's finished and we can put everything back.

I'm so thankful for my husband, who perseveres and finishes what he starts. I'm afraid that on my own none of this would get accomplished very quickly. I tend to get sidetracked!!

It was fun to work together in the yard again today. We felt like pioneers preparing our homestead. I wish I had taken a picture of Chelsea. She was helping Grandpa and Dad shovel topsoil into the wheelbarrows like a pro. Maddie did an awesome job of helping me arrange the rocks for the border.

We'll be living in chaos for the next week or so, but it's kind of fun and breaks up the routine a bit.

I'm excited about this week and the beginning of the Easter celebrations. Last night the girls and I watched the animated Passion. They have so many more questions now that they're older. Some I couldn't answer right off the top. Maddie couldn't understand whey Jesus told Mary not to touch him when she saw him at the tomb, but then he encouraged the disciples to touch him when he appeared to them? I couldn't really answer that to her satisfaction. Chelsea was wondering how Jesus could pray to God when He is God? Good question. Once again, I attemped to explain the Trinity. That's a hard one for kids. Anyway, I'm hoping we can do lots of reading and thinking about the Easter events this week.

The Trinity is a hard question for adults as well, never mind just kids! I know we get a lot of questions from the kids around here too, and Wade and I both being new Christians, find ourselves more often than not saying, "you know, you should ask Pastor Shar that one, or your Sunday School Teacher! Then make sure to come and explain it to Mommy after you are done!" Too funny! Oh well, I am sure it will all come in time! Have fun with all your reno's and we will see you soon.

You're right. I think I've come to the conclusion that my little brain will never fully comprehend the Trinity, and that's OK with me for now!
