It's Tuesday of spring break and I'm feeling pretty relaxed. What a nice change of pace. On Sunday we had a great time at the Art Gallery. We are definitely going to make that a tradition. They had so many great activities for the kids to do. We were wishing we had more time to spend there before it closed up for the day. Next month, we'll go earlier.
Soccer Camp got off to a wet start. It literally poured the whole 21/2 hours on Monday. I stayed in case the girls needed a change of clothes or whatever. They were drenched but still had a good time. I, on the other hand, stood and shivered under my umbrella, taking refuge in the van every once in a while to unthaw my hands. Yuck.
Today was much better. It was chilly, but the sun was shining. Mike unexpectedly took a holiday day today. He has 22 days to use up plus the 20 more he gets this year....the advantages of being at the same company for so long. We dropped the girls off to soccer and had some time to ourselves to grab a coffee and chat. After lunch, the girls and I went to a former teaching colleague's house. She was having a bunch of people and kids over. They have a great property with tons of space outside for the kids to play. We stayed until almost 4. The girls had a wonderful time playing on their playground and exploring their big back yard. It was nice to catch up with some of the teachers from my old school and see their kids getting bigger.
Mike and the girls have gone to play some tennis at the school while the sun is still shining. I'm going to take advantage of this time and go "purge" their rooms of old art projects, outgrown clothes and loot bag toys they won't miss. Their "stuff" is getting out of hand and too hard for them to manage.
I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow and I'm thinking I might even book a pedicure this week. It's about time to get those open toe sandals going and I think my feet need some attention before I do that!
