Spring break is officially here. We woke up today to the sound of pouring rain. We really wanted to do something as a family so we decided the aquarium would be a great rainy day outing. We had a great time. We hadn't been there forever so we rediscovered quite a few things. The girls, now that they are older, have a different experience there. They were so intrigued by all the sea animals and now that they can read, they could discover things for themselves. We had such a good time that I decided to use the days' admission towards buying an anuual pass. It's such a good deal for a family. We only need to go twice to pay for it. I love having the option to pop in there if we're down at Stanley Park or downtown. It will give us a good option for outings in the summer too. I'm excited about that. We had a membership a few years ago and made good use of it.
On the way home we stopped at the famous gelato store that Todd and Bonnie told us about. Yum! Mike had cola sorbetto, I had cappucino, Maddie had orange crush and Chelsea had her regular....mint chocolate chip!
Now we are home trying to dry out. It is REALLY wet today. Tomorrow we are actually heading downtown again because we have a VSO kids concert. I think we may go by the Art Gallery after as they have their family Sunday on the third Sunday of the month. Kids can do all kinds of great hands on stuff.
After tomorrow, our week is pretty low key. The girls have soccer camp 2 hours each day, except Friday. I think we'll stick close to home and get some long overdue cleaning, sorting and organizing done.
I'm just really happy to have a week of change and rest!

We were at the aquarium today too!
Funny, we went early and left just after lunch. We enjoyed it too. :)
And yes it was a WET day today, yuck!
OK I was so sure I commented on this blog a few days ago!! But it is now nowhere to be seen. Hmm. I'm sure I was raving about the Aquarium and how much we missed it and how glad I am that your kids are seeing it in a new light now that they're older. :) I'll live vicariously through your season pass! Actually I took R to Petcetera the other day, and I think after seeing the fish, bunnies, hamsters and the chinchilla he was just as happy as the Aquarium, is that not just the saddest thing you ever heard?? HA!
I still say coconut is the best flavour at that gelato place, and the weirdest one I ever heard anyone actually enjoying was my father-in-law with his aloevera. LOL
Well I hope you have a happy and restful Spring Break - sounds like you're off to a typical classy start already...we're lacking a bit here in the kid friendly entertainment department to say the least! Oh well, that will make us want to go on vacation very soon!! :) Miss and love you much!
