Major Update Needed

Wow...life is just too busy to blog these days! I have today off because I traded days with my teaching partner. I'll be working tomorrow instead. It feels weird to have Thursday off. I have to keep reminding myself that it is NOT yet the weekend! June has been really crazy with report cards and end of the school year stuff. I volunteered to help with our Talent Show at school so I've spent most of the week running dress rehearsals and fine tuning the line up. Thank goodness the kindergarten teacher is helping too and has done it for several years in a row. The teacher who has always run it is off on a leave right now so we are trying our best!
Report cards are done though, so that is a huge relief. I haven't started taking stuff down or cleaning the classroom yet. I'm planning to use a lot of "child labour" next week to get it accomplished.

Everything is wrapping up for the season. Piano is over and we are taking a break from daily practice. We'll have to start up again or they will forget all they have learned. We're continuing on next year even though practice times can really be a struggle. I keep telling myself we are instilling discipline by forcing them to practise. Ha! Actually, Maddie is for the most part willing and once I get Chelsea going and feeling succesful she likes it. Chelsea even played for her school's talent show.

Maddie's field hockey is wrapping up this weekend too. She has really enjoyed it. I think it's a great sport and great exercise for her. The mini tournament is this weekend. Unfortunately, the forecast is for rain...too bad.

We don't have concrete plans for the summer. We just finished paying off our van on Mike's aggressive financing plan!! I love my husband for being committed to us living as debt free as we can...I'm not sure it would happen without him. Anyway, as a result, we don't have a ton of extra cash on hand considering I get no pay in the summer! We want to save up in the fall for a Mexico vacation perhaps. All that to say, we won't be going on any elaborate vacations this summer. We may head to Tofino in August....we have to really sit down and decide. We are going on a family camping trip in July to New Denver,BC. Most of my extended family is coming so that will be fun.

Well, the morning is getting old and I should be using my time to catch up on some housework and laundry. I also need to upload and print some pictures. My list is so long I won't get it all accomplished today. But the good news is that vacation time is just around the corner!! I am so excited to spend time with my girls and get some projects done.
