So, that's it...holidays are over. Monday morning hit hard with an early alarm clock and a crazy commute to work, which included having to back my van down a big hill due to a little sports car being stuck in front of me! Oh, the fun of west coast snow. Tomorrow is supposed to be worse, so I'm looking forward to that (ha).
Once I got to school, it was good to be back to newly waxed floors and some Christmas presents that were left for me on the last Friday. I was so excited to get three more Starbucks cards, a movie ticket and some great body wash stuff. It was like Christmas all over. I'm glad my teaching partner didn't deliver them to me! The kids were all excited, but tired too. So, it was kind of a nice mellow day of getting back into routine. It was nice to be back. I do love my job...I just wish it didn't take up so much time!
Mike is working late tonight, so I ended up taking the girls to piano. Maddie does her exam next week. Her teacher says she is well prepared so that's good to hear. She even started her on some grade two pieces to break up the monotony! It's been a really good exercise in discipline for Maddie. She's worked really hard, so I hope she passes with a good mark.
As much as I loved the time off, it's good to be back into schedule and looking forward to the next events on the calendar...Maddie's birthday, Valentine's Day, Spring Break and Easter. Unfortunately, Mike's new position means he will be traveling more this year. He hates the time away from us, but it's kind of neat that he gets to see new places and it breaks up his work routine a little.
Well, I need to go make lunches and get things ready for the morning.....holidays are over!
