Being a west coaster, I'm pretty good with rain. It's the darkness of winter that really gets to me. You can't imagine my joy this week as I drove to school in the light and drove home when it was light. That means the seasons are changing ever so slowly. Spring is coming and my spirit literally leaps for joy. This weekend was just the icing on the cake. Today was a sunny, warmish day as the girls played soccer. Mike and Maddie decided to go snowshoeing. Chelsea, remembering last year's snowshoeing, decided she would rather stay home with me. We got out her bike, dusted it off and took it for a spin. It was great to be out in the sunshine. I'm anticipating us getting out lots as a family and being active this spring/summer. Now that the girls can ride bikes more confidently and their stamina has increased we can venture out on longer trips. I'm also hoping to do lots of day hikes and seawall walks.
After our bike ride we headed over to Art Knapps to get inspired. All the seeds and gardening stuff is just beginning to come out. Every year I get new ideas for our garden and expand it just a little. This year, we need to improve our soil out back before we plant anything. The heather is starting to bloom, although our neighbours' is much brighter than ours. Our neighbours are amazing gardeners. He has been kind enough to help me out and often gives me extra things. I'm excited to see how the Rose of Sharon bush he gave me last year will bloom.
Hopefully we've seen the last of the snow and ice for this year. I'm ready for a little spring.
Here are a few photos from last weekend. We went to the aqarium to use our pass and then took a lovely stroll along the seawall. We, of course, stopped at the Gelato Place on our way home. Thank you Todd and Bonnie, for finding this great place!

Here's the link http://www.lacasagelato.com/ The kids love going there because you can sample as many as you want before you decide! Even Martha Stewart has been there.
