March

....was it a lion or a lamb today? I think it was perhaps a bit of both, so who knows how it will end up? I can't actually believe that March is here! It seems impossible that February is over.

My report cards are in progress. They are on their way to being finished and will be done by Tuesday evening...that's what I plan anyhow. Then it will be a week and a half until spring break! I can hardly wait for a week off. I sincerely hope I don't spend it nursing strep throat like last year.

The girls and I have been enjoying a nightly ritual of Anne of Green Gables. Maddie checked it out of the library, but was finding it a little frustrating to get started. I forgot how much description there is in the beginning, before the story really starts. Anyhow, I decided it was a good read aloud and so we've been reading a chapter a night. Both girls have really enjoyed it. They've seen the TV version but the book is really the treasure! Wow...the language is something else in that novel...very rich. I find myself having to stop to explain words and phrases a lot. They got a real kick tonight out of the chapter where Anne has Diana to tea. We learned the word intoxication! LOL!

Welcome March....I hope it brings some warm sunshine, some evening light and a few pink blossoms!
