I can't believe we are verging on the Labour Day weekend. The summer went by in a blur with all the activity and inactivity! The major highlight of our summer was the big "reno". Our house is now newly painted, tiled, carpeted, light fixtured, plumbed and most importantly a few square feet bigger upstairs. We love our new room but unfortunately have run our of money to furnish it! Ha! So, it's kind of a cavern right now, but it will be functional soon.
Another highlight was our Alaska cruise. It was a wonderfully relaxing holiday. The best thing about cruises, I discovered, is the amazing service you receive. We got thoroughly spoiled having someone wait on us hand and foot. The scenery was breathtaking, especially the glacier. Wow! We loved it and may cruise again one day!
We had fun at Camp on Thetis Island. Co-directing with Lis was such fun and the girls, of course, had an amazing time. Maddie is trying to figure out how to get more camp in next summer. She's already scheming about how to go to Adventure, Plunge and Girls camp next summer. Hmmmm...that's three weeks. I might miss her too much.
We took a quick weekend trip to Cold Stream to see my sister and husband. It was a fun weekend, sunny and packed with beach time, visiting, hiking and O'Keefe Ranch.
Mike and I also took a trip by ourselves to Tofino. This was a perfect way to end the summer. It was kind of a 40th birthday present for Mike. He really wanted to get back to Tofino to surf. I loved the beach, the clean air and the quaint shopping. We stayed in a great little cottage....super relaxing and fun.
Now, it's back to routine and work. I'm a little melancholy, but a little excited about the fall and all the possibilities it holds.

Good to see another post from you Heather. I've missed your musings these past few months. :) Sounds like a busy summer, but relaxing activities that took up the time all the same.
