Snow Day

"Will Santa come again?" was Chelsea's question as she woke up to see the snow. My poor West Coast kids can't quite reconcile the Christmas photos they see on cards and TV with the green Christmases we usually have. It may be a little late for Christmas, but we got SNOW!!! We even got a decent amount. It was fun to walk Maddie to school and hear the crunch of snow under our boots...yes, we finally donned our snow boots! Chelsea and I took the dog over to the field and let her rip around. We all had a good laugh.

I baked cinnamon buns because I was going to take them over to a friend who just had a baby, but I don't know if I want to brave the roads today. I think we'll just enjoy them at home and I'll make some more. It's so easy with my breadmaker.

So, it just feels like a cozy day....staying home, seeing the snow falling outside and filling the house with the smell of cinnamon buns. These are the kind of days I used to dream about when I worked full time so I intend to savour it all today.
