Jack Spratt.....

You know the old nursery rhyme....Jack Spratt could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean and so betwixt the both of them, they licked the platter clean. I was reminded of that rhyme tonight at supper. My kids have such different likes and dislikes. We had spaghetti and salad. At almost the same time, Maddie asked for more salad and Chelsea asked for more spaghetti. Maddie hadn't touched her spaghetti and Chelsea hadn't touched her salad!!! I should have given them one plate to share!

My kids both love parmesan. The funny thing is that when they first heard about Tarzan, they thought his name was "Parmesan". I thought we had corrected them but tonight as Chelsea sprinkled on the cheese, she said, "Hey, we didn't see Parmesan at Disneyland"! We had a good laugh.

We've had fun this week at VBS. I'm pretty tired from my morning fitness and the intensity of teaching all morning. It's very satisfying and although I haven't lost much in the way of pounds, I can tell my body shape is changing and I feel way better. Unfortunately, I pulled an abdominal muscle - boy, does that ever hurt!!!! Yesterday I sneezed and it felt like my muscle was ripping. I have to ice it and just let it rest for a couple days I guess. It's been great to teach at VBS this week too. How fun to be able to teach kids about Jesus. There's no greater privilege and although I feel inadequate, God somehow uses me.

I'm loving the van. It's fun to drive and so enjoyable to finally have a CD player in a vehicle. I love music when we drive. Of course, it's been VBS music this week!!
