Home Again

I was going to post from Red Deer but we got really busy doing fun vacation things and pretty much dropped into bed each night!

We had a great time away. Some of the highlights for me were:

• sitting in the Banff Upper Hot Springs enjoying the view of the mountains
• staying with my sister and her husband, enjoying their home and chatting about all kinds of things
• going to Bowron ponds and watching Mike and the girls navigate in a pedal boat!
• seeing the Badlands around Drumheller and watching the girls expressions as we saw all the dinosaur skeletons in the museum
• seeing the girls excitement as we stayed in a few hotels. They always said, "Mom, can we go to the pool once we get settled in?"
• holding my newborn great-niece....yes, I'm a great aunt
• having Colin, Jeanie, her dad and Anjeleigh come over to my sister's for my birthday
• my sister's birthday gift to me....a shopping trip to Scrapbooker's Paradise in Red Deer
• visiting West Edmonton Mall and seeing my brother's family and my niece Laura
• playing mini golf with the whole crew in the mall....13 of us!
• driving home and enjoying watching the scenery change, from flat Edmonton to the mountains of Jasper to the hot dry desert like Kamloops area.
• seeing my beloved mountains again as we approached BC. I like Alberta but it is so darn flat!! I feel so vulnerable on all sides there!
• mostly seeing family....I got to see so many of them on this trip!
• conversation with Mike in the van, while the girls watched their in flight DVDs...a lifesaver!
• sleeping in and staying up late
