Cute Emails

You know how everything your child does is "cute" the first time....first words, first solids, first steps...after a while it becomes routine. I'm happy to report that even my kids at the ripe old ages of 8 and 7 are having "firsts". I'm really happy there are still "firsts" because we've had a lot of "lasts" lately! Lasts like Dora and Elmo, like board books and big chunky baby toys....Sometimes I miss those things...even the diapers!

Maddie has started to use email to communicate with her friend who will be moving in the new year. They're practising for when she moves. I, of course, being the nosy mother I am, read them! Here's her latest unedited, spelling mistakes and all...I think it's pretty cute....

Hello Hailey, I will teach you to do a happy smile on the computer. First you press the shift. Then you press this ; with still holding the shift. Then you press the right bracket still holding the shift. And then you should have it. You do that really fast though. If it dosen’t work the first time erase it and try it again only faster. Because that means you dident do it fast anough. And it should turn out like this. :)! Isent that cool! My mom taught me it last night. Anyway did you like the field trip today? What was your faverete part? It’s to bad we diden’t get picked for the draw hey? They looked like cool books. And I wanted to know what happened to Lily. And if i got Emmas story I could show my little cousin cause she was adopted from china. Any way I got a little carried away with all my writing. So in your next note I want you to try a Happy smile, write as much as I did( or more) and answer my questions and I will answer yours! Well see you tomorrow
