Gung Hay Fat Choy!

We celebrated Chinese New Year at school this week. I can post some pictures because the children are well disguised! We read Chinese Little Red Riding Hood (Lon Po Po) and compared it to the traditional one. We did the dragon dance (very rough version!) in gym and made our own dragon masks in art. We also had a cool math lesson on tangrams. The kids really enjoyed that and it gave some of my students a chance to shine. My two boys with autism outdid everyone on building the tangram puzzles. It was a fun day and a good way to brighten up a gray, foggy winter stretch!
